Izvar has been awarded this year once again with the Worldstar Award for his new designed 4 lt. product.

This year Izvar’s Worldstar Awards reached to 4. WorldStar 2007 attracted 291 entries from 32 countries around the world. Out of this 166 were selected as WorldStar winners 2007 by the jury in their meeting in Athens, Greece, on October 24, 2007. The jury consisted of 25 representatives from the World Packaging Organisation (WPO) and one representative from the International Packaging Press Organisation (IPPO).Turkey attended this year with 23 products from 16 companies and 6 of them were nominated as Worldstar winners.

Izvar’s nominated packaging is called, “Safe Sampling Drum “(4 lt volume). It is specially designed for safely transporting and keeping the critical liquid samples, preventing the content to be affected by external factors. The drum is manufactured from CCR steel and the interior is coated with high chemical resistant and foodgrade epoxy phenolic lacquer. It has 4 lt nominal volume and has one 2” closure that can be sealed. The top end is equipped with a handle. Top seam has a reduced diameter and therefore the drums can be stacked on each other safely. It has a UN certification for Class 1 dangerous goods.

6^th AOSD Conference in Malaysia

9-12 September 2007, Kuala Lumpur

Kagan Izmiroglu, Commercial Director of Izvar attended 6'th AOSD Conference, which was organized by the Asia Oceanic Steel Drum Manufacturers Association(AOSD) in Kualalumpur on September 2007. During the Conference the host company,Malaysia-based Stanta Metal Drum has officially opened its new steel drum production facility in Shah Alam, near Kuala Lumpur.

Key Issues of the conference included :

• Determining the most appropriate strategy to capitalize on existing environmental threats.

ISO 14001 Certification of Izvar

Besides its existing "Certificate of Quality Management System (BS EN ISO 9001:2000)", our Company received in May 2007, as one of the pioneers in its sector, also the "Certificate of Environmental Management System (BS EN ISO 14001:2004)" through assessment and certification of its applied environmental management system by the QA Certification Institution Alberk Kalite Danismanlik, Turkey. Our certification program for our Occupational Health and Safety Management System still continues, and we expect to receive our "Certificate of Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSAS 18001)" at the end of 2007.

Propack in Jeddah

Propack was the last station of our serie of exhibitions in this part of the world. By these fairs we have been contacted with numerous valuable packaging user companies and improved our knowledge about the Saudi and the Gulf region.

Commercial Director Mr. Kagan Izmiroglu and Chairman Mr. Ozgen Izmiroglu and families represented Izvar at the wedding ceremonie of Ashish and Priyanka in Mumbai,India. Ashish is the son of Saraf Family.Mr Sharad Kumar Saraf is the President of Technocraft Industries, worldwide closure supplier for steel drums. Business relation between Technocraft and Izvar goes back for nearly 20 years.

PPP in Riyadh, Suudi Arabia

Izvar exhibited his products at the PPPP (Printing,Packaging,Plastics and Petrochem) in Riyadh, Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia. The machinery development division and our industrial packagings attracted many visitors during the exhibition.

Bridging the World of Industrial Packaging

Over 340 people attended the conference. Of these, approximately 260 were conference delegates from industrial packaging concerns across the globe. Packaging professionals from over 20 countries traveled to San Francisco to participate in the event. More than a dozen leading suppliers to the industry were on hand in the Exhibition Hall. Art Exhibition

April 2006

Chairman of our company Mr. Ozgen Izmiroglu, besides being a Dipl. Mechanical Engineer, paints as a hobby on weekends in Nik Art Gallery with a group of enthusiastic amateur painters. He participated in a number of exhibits in Istanbul with this group since 2001. He will also participate with some of his oil paintings at the Exhibition in “Besiktas Deniz Muzesi” between 08-13 April.

Izvar, welcomed European Industrial Packaging Producers.

In May 2005, at Swissotel Istanbul, European New Industrial Packaging Producers Association (SEFA) and European Reconditioned Industrial Packaging Producers Association (SERRED) came together.

IZVAR, as a host of the organisation welcomed his European guests of more than 100, made up of the managers of leading 35 packaging producing companies and their wives. Following the meetings, the contributers got the chance of seeing the beauties of Istanbul closely, with the boat trip at Bosphorus. During the meetings the European Packaging Producers, watched different supplier presentations closely related with the sector. Izvar invited Borcelik to perform a presentation about the steel sector, one of the major raw materials of the packaging industry, and about the contributions of Borcelik to the sector.

International Packaging Congress in Izmir

Izvar participated in the III.International Packaging Congress which was held in Izmir between 03 and 06 December 2003 organized by the Chamber of Chemical Engineers and the institutions in organizing committee for the honor to celebration of the 80'th anniversary of Turkish Republic. Universities,research institutions,packaging industry and its supply industry are addressed the congress. Our Commercial Director, Mr. Kagan Izmiroglu made a presentation about reconditioning of used industrial packagings during the Congress. All the presentations are collected in the "Presentations Book" by the Chamber of Chemical Engineers

The results of the 2001 Worldstars for the Packaging Awards organized by WPO (World Packaging Organization) have been decided by the jury gathered during the 7th Packaging Industry Fair in Istanbul and IZVAR has been awarded the 2001 Worldstar for Packaging with its new product IZ-TAINER® (Container Type Open-Top Steel Drum).

Another First again from Izvar

The production of Open-Top Steel Drum with an external diameter of 585 mm. has been achived. We are pleased to produce this new product which has been named as IZ-TAINER®, for the first time. The most important aspect is that, 4 drums can be placed as a row in a container, therefore it brings considerable advantages in terms of transport costs.
